In addition to medical services, the Mobile Health Check (Cekeli) program in Cilacap Regency also provides education on disease prevention, clean and healthy lifestyles, environmental health, and the importance of early detection.
Jakarta, March 12, 2026 - Awareness of the importance of regular health checks is crucial. However, in rural areas, access to healthcare and the habit of getting checked remain a challenge. Many residents only visit healthcare facilities when their symptoms become severe. In fact, early education and detection can prevent more serious complications.
Based on this need, PT Sumber Segara Primadaya (S2P) – Cilacap Power Plant runs the Mobile Health Check Program (Cekeli) as part of its commitment to Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) in the field of health. This free health check program has been running since 2016 and is consistently carried out every six months at six service points in three areas supported by the company, namely in Menganti Village, Karangkandri Village, and Slarang Village, in Cilacap Regency.
On average, more than 2,000 residents have benefited from the Cekeli program each year. In 2025 alone, 2,354 people participated in this service. Cumulatively since 2016, tens of thousands of residents in the assisted villages have received health examinations and education through Cekeli.
Zam Zam Nurjaman, LK3 & CSR Manager of PT S2P, said that the Cekeli program was designed not only as a temporary health service, but also as a means of improving community capacity through increased health literacy. "We want the community to have sufficient knowledge to maintain their health independently. Education is the key to ensuring that the benefits of this program can be felt in a sustainable manner," said Zam Zam Nurjaman.
Through Cekeli, PT S2P - Cilacap Power Plant hopes to create a healthier, more environmentally conscious, and productive community, in line with the company's commitment to grow and develop together with the communities surrounding its operational areas.
Cekeli Open to All Ages
Cekeli Open to All Ages
The Cekeli program is open to people of all ages, from toddlers to the elderly. The mechanism for participating in this free health check program is quite simple: Information about the Cekeli schedule will be communicated through village officials. Residents simply need to come to the service location according to the schedule, bring their ID card, and then register on site. After that, participants will immediately receive a series of health checks.
The services provided include: blood pressure checks, blood sugar checks, cholesterol checks, uric acid checks, and general examinations by a doctor. If necessary, participants will receive medication or vitamins according to the results of the examination. If a condition requiring further treatment is found, residents will be given a referral letter and directed to use BPJS or the nearest health facility.
More Than Just Free Health Checkups
What makes the Cekeli program unique and interesting is not only its medical services, but also its interactive educational approach. In each activity, the community receives education on disease prevention, clean and healthy lifestyles, environmental health, and the importance of early detection.
The material is presented in a practical manner and tailored to the most common complaints found in the field. The interaction is two-way. Residents can ask questions directly, discuss issues, and even consult personally with doctors and medical staff. The program involves around 20 health workers, including doctors, nurses, and medical support staff, and provides medications appropriate to the results of the examination.
To implement this program, PT S2P collaborates with the Kesugihan 2 Community Health Center and the Brayan Sehat Clinic. The Kesugihan 2 Community Health Center is the closest health facility to the Cilacap Power Plant. Meanwhile, the Brayan Sehat Clinic is a partner health facility that is often used to check the health of Cilacap Power Plant employees. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that the health services provided through the Cekeli program will be of good quality and increase public trust in the program.
The village government also supports the program by facilitating the location for the free health check-ups and assisting with community coordination.
Hypertension and High Cholesterol Remain Prevalent
Based on the results of examinations conducted so far, the most common complaints are hypertension and high cholesterol. Many residents who previously felt healthy only discovered that they had high blood pressure after participating in Cekeli.
Some of them immediately received initial treatment and referrals for further examination. Cases like these are one indicator of the program's success: diseases are detected earlier, thereby reducing the risk of complications.
In addition, there has been an increase in public awareness of the importance of regular checkups. The elderly, for example, are the most consistent group in attending. They come not only to seek treatment, but also to ensure that their health condition is monitored.
The community's response to this free health check program has been very positive. High enthusiasm is always evident at every service location.
Long-Term Commitment to Public Health
For PT S2P – Cilacap Power Plant, the Cekeli program is not just a routine CSR agenda. Through preventive education and early detection, the company aims to encourage the community to be more concerned about their health and the environment. Moving forward, S2P will continue to explore health programs based on the needs of the villages it supports, using a collaborative approach with local health facilities. Amidst ever-evolving public health challenges, small but consistent steps, such as regular health checks and preventive education, often form the strongest foundation for building healthier and more resilient communities.
