Cilacap - PT Sumber Segara Primadaya (S2P) held an education seminar and scholarship award ceremony for high-achieving students in the company's target areas and for the children of company employees. The seminar was part of the company's Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.
The seminar was held at the S2P Tower Ballroom in Cilacap, Central Java, with the theme “Big Dreams, Concrete Steps: Shaping the Future from the Start,” taking place on Wednesday (July 2).
This activity is part of PT S2P's Education Capacity Enhancement Program, which has been regularly held since 2013. This year’s theme focuses on the importance of recognizing one’s potential and designing the future from an early age.
“The S2P Merit Scholarship Program has been implemented since 2013 with the aim of enhancing the spirit of learning and competition in the field of education, as well as serving as a form of appreciation for high-achieving students in the areas supported by PT S2P,” said Koen Bondan, General Manager of PT S2P.
A total of 90 scholarship recipients from various levels (elementary school to university) attended the seminar. They represented three villages under PT S2P’s care: Karangkandri, Slarang, and Menganti, with 30 students from each village. Additionally, eight children of PT S2P employees who are also recipients of the high-achieving scholarship were present, with two children from each level.
Overall, scholarships will be awarded to 350 high-achieving students from elementary school to university level in 2025. The breakdown is as follows: 177 elementary school students, 99 junior high school students, 44 senior high school students, and 30 university students.
This program is awarded to students based on academic achievement criteria, specifically ranking 1–3 in grades 4–12 or championship achievements at the county level up to the international level. For university students, the requirement is a minimum GPA of 3.0 for public universities and 3.2 for private universities, with program accreditation at level A.
The seminar was held to motivate elementary school students to prepare themselves for junior high school. Meanwhile, junior high and high school students were encouraged to discover their potential, set goals, and determine the direction to achieve future success.
In general, the seminar provided participants with knowledge and skills on how to develop their abilities through various educational and career options that align with their capabilities and achievements, while instilling the importance of planning and setting future goals from an early age.
The seminar featured two psychologist speakers: Ayu Putri Ratnasari Sejati, S.Psi., M.Psi., and Virdha Emmalianna Yudha, S.Psi.
“I listened to Kak Ayu's talk on mental health and Kak Vey's life journey. I found it very enjoyable and it certainly motivated me. In the future, I hope to be like them, successful in the field of psychology,” said Alvinesha, a student at SMPN 5 Cilacap from Karangkandri, who is a recipient of the S2P scholarship.
Meanwhile, Aghnia, a student at MAN 1 Cilacap from Slarang, admitted that she gained knowledge about mental health and tips for planning her future. She believes the insights shared by the speakers were highly beneficial for her future.
“I would like to express my gratitude to PT S2P for organizing this event and providing me with a scholarship. My hope for PT S2P is that it can be more beneficial to the local community and students in Cilacap,” she said.
